Europe

Woof it's been awhile. I really need to keep up on this blog. Well a lot has changed since over a year ago. I've moved about six times. Went overseas twice. Got a new puppy, and now working as a full time artist and model. 

Just got back from Netherlands-Denmark-Sweden-Germany-Belgium. What a trip! The only thing that is unfortunate about going to that many countries within eleven days is you don't get to experience enough of each. 

Not enough room to blog about everything that happened in one sitting. But to sum things up- got a tattoo in Amsterdam, visited my grandfather's birth town in Sweden, ate amazing food in Denmark, got cocktails in bathrobes only to anger the hotel staff in Germany, got in a fight with a restaurant owner in Belgium because we didn't like his mussels, snuck onto first class only to get kicked out. It was lovely!

Should get back to painting now. 

Grandmas House

Drinking a half pint of Meka Leka Hi Hops at grandmas. Thrift and vintage antique shopping today. Very successful. Got some light bulbs,  shoes for Halloween, wine lol. Some stuff for my costume too. I cracked my phone while jogging the other day so it's annoying to type on grr. 

Started this last night. Found a bunch of free books and records outside a gallery.

Love oil painting! Worked on this last week.  

Coming out great. Worked at a puppy hotel last week and got fired cause no one could cover my shift. Going to Chicago tomorrow for grown up things. Excited. Not enough time for IKEA. Gotta work on the outfit.

Enjoying sushi with Luna. Some yellowtail jalapeño roll with unagi. Went on a jog this morning. Art walk tonight.  

Worked on two paintings last night. First one was messing around. The second one I'm going off another artist and it's coming out great!

Moved

WOW have I been a slacker. Well long story short, I fell in love and moved to Colorado. Also got a dog. I've been on an artist block for the past year and finally broke though it. What happened is, that friend I was painting something for, he wanted me to start selling my artwork. This friend was intimidating and said that he was going to be the first one to purchase something from me. So i tried and tried, could never finish the painting. Ended up destroying it. But I can paint again.

Next project is some flowers. Went to the Denver Museum of Art yesterday. They had a in bloom concept going on.

DIRTY MARTINI

I haven't updated this in awhile, and I do feel guilty but I also acknowledge the fact that I have been ignoring some of my goals. My few twitter updates, not to mention Instagram have been throughly updated. 

Currently it's a Thursday night and I'm at the local bar I do some graphic design work for. I've run out of projects to do, finding myself on here. Let's see what's new...

Next Piece

Finished Rick Grimes last night! Treated myself to the last episode of The Walking Dead and some Cabernet. Although AMC's post on Facebook already spoiled the ending. 

I might add a few things to him since apparently the hair has took much detail and the background needs some changes.  

For my next piece, a friend of mine really wants a painting. So I'm thinking of relating it to where they are from. Going back to landscape. All hands on deck!

This week I've worked on some art for a local bar. I worked on their drink specials board as well as some flyers. 

Staying Busy

Thanksgiving dinner, so    good!

At least that is what I keep telling myself. Thanksgiving break was very relaxing. Got a photoshoot in, went to a Slipknot concert, ate some really great ham turkey that my parents prepared. Got to watch Jurassic Park in 3D, that was interesting. Only two weeks until the semester is over, I will have so    much more time to paint. Drinking a lot of tea lately, only because I eat so    many french fries from work. 

Rick Grimes is almost finished, I just have to do his hair. I need to plan a trip to Chicago again soon so    I can fit some artwork in. My last trip was not very productive. I met a lot of great people and forgot a lot of their names. One of my good friends took me to a busy diner. Once we were finished eating I noticed a large black hair in my coffee, best not to go there again. Not to mention the next morning after the Slipknot concert I went to another diner. I decided to order a 'salmon patty', because I'm quite a large salmon fan. What came out was a dried up patty that tasted like cardboard. Lesson learned, don't order fish from diners. 

Doing some board artwork for a local bar in Iowa City. One of my friends wants me to paint their vehicle. Sounds like a fun project but I believe I've been putting it off because it's so    cold. Well now, here are some photos!

Greyhound

I'm currently on the Greyhound bus on my way to Chicago. I haven't been for a month, thought it was the right time to visit again. When I got off work there was a blizzard outside, I'm surprised the bus made it on time. 

Finished my business cards tonight. The guy at Staples who helped me was really nice. Now I just have to figure out how to give them out. As much as I want to stay in and drink hot cocoa by the fireplace, I need to stay productive and aware. 

Started adding layers to my Rick Grimes piece. The colors are coming out interesting on his layers of skin. Getting better at this...
